    History

    Dong-A Publishing Printing is a leading company in printing culture who works together to realize the dreams and future of customers.

    1940

    1945

    • The establishment of a publishing department at Dong-A Printing Company in 1945

    1950

    1951

    • The company name is changed to Dong-A Publishing.

    1955

    • A new printing factory is built in Seodaemoon, Seoul.

    1957

    • The Company becomes the first to innovate printing types in Korea.

    1970

    1975

    • The construction of an office building in Doksan-dong, Seoul, is completed, and the Company moves into the new building.

    1980

    1985

    • Dong-A Publication becomes an affiliate of Doosan Group.

    1988

    • The Company exports textbooks to Yemen (a total of 6,153,500 copies of 273 titles).

    1989

    • The Company introduces a computer-based printing system (DTP) for the first time in Korea.

    1990

    1990

    • The Company records KRW 10 billion in sales and USD 10 million in exports.

    1994

    • Dong-A Publishing Printing Culture Exhibition Hall opens in the Seoul Factory in Doksan-dong.

    • The construction of the Ansan Printing Factory is completed.

    1996

    • The company name is changed from Dong-A Publishing to Dong-A Publishing.

    1998

    • The Company takes over the business units of labels and paper containers from E.Saeng Corporation.

    • Merged into Doosan Corporation.

    2000

    2000

    • Exports reaches USD 14 million.

    2001

    • The printing business that has been a business group of Doosan Corporation is reorganized into a printing business unit under the Publishing BG.

    • The label factory in Cheonan is moved into the Ansan Factory.

    2004

    • Dong-A Publishing Printing Museum is moved to the Ansan Factory and reopened.

    2007

    • MDC Printing Improvement Activities are kicked off. (A technology exchange agreement is signed with Mizukami Printing Co., Ltd).

    • Awarded the grand prize in the Printing Technology category at the 23rd Printing Culture Grand Prize ceremony

    2008

    • The Doosan Corporation Publishing BG is spun off into an independent company, Dong-A Publishing.

    • FSC-certified.

    • Certified for the environmental management system (ISO14001).

    2009

    • The Company obtains the Soy Seal Mark certification (ASA-IM).

    2010

    • Certified for achieving one multiple of accident-free days by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA).

    • G7 Master certified (web-fed, sheet-fed printing presses).

    • Certified for OHSAS/KOSHA 18001.

    2012

    • The Company withdraws from the paper container business in April.

    2014

    • Yes 24 has acquired Doosan Dong-A Co. in October. Yes 24 signed an agreement with Doosan Dong-A to take over the 100-percent stake.

    • As of October, Doosan Dong-A changed its name to be Dong-A Publishing.

    • Acquisition of “Excellence in Corporate Accountability and Innovative workplace” Certificate

    • Award to be an outstanding company with Environmental Management in Ansan city (Ansan Factory)

    • Award appreciation plaque at volunteer’s day in Ansan City

    2015

    • Change of stakeholders from Yes 24 to Hansae Yes 24 Holdings in July, 2015
